The IIE's Varsity College has a vacancy for a : Financial Manager - National Office (Waterfall)
Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the financial wellbeing of the Brand and assist in managing governance and risk. Analyzes and reports monthly and annual results, effects cost savings and participates in strategic financial planning and the achievement of targets and budgets. Advises and supports Brand CFO, School Principals and other Managers in the Brand on financial matters.
Key Performance Areas:
Brand Financial Planning & Forecasting
¢ Ensure relevant information is gathered from campus VP Finance and Principals and prepares the Brand monthly analysis, trends and reports.
¢ Assists with financial planning for approval by CFO and MD
¢ Provides support to the brand accountants, VP Finance, principals and managers during the budget compilation process, including CAPEX budgeting and planning.
¢ Prepare forecasts and projections monthly and communicate same to CFO
¢ Provide proactive financial support, advice and solutions to CFO, Principals and the Brand Management teams
¢ Keep abreast of developments/trends in economy and advises CFO accordingly
¢ Compile the annual budget/s for the Brand and update this as required
¢ Monitor and track performance against budget and liaise with VPF, Principals in this regard
¢ Manage variances in actual vs. budget expenditure in all areas of accountability.
¢ Manages Capex across the Brand, in line with budgets and profitability ensuring accurate completion and proper authorization
¢ Implement an appropriate financial reporting and cash flow management plan to support the achievement of the brand strategy.
¢ Analyse, investigate and report on financial performance of the Brand
¢ Collate and analyse financial performance information in respect of the Brand.
¢ Ensure reports are produced accurately and disseminated timeously monthly, quarterly and annually
¢ Monitor cash flow, weekly and advise Brand CFO and Principals accordingly
¢ Assists with BEEE reporting for Brand to ADvTech
¢ Ensures the preparation and reviews monthly management accounts.
¢ Prepares monthly LEADERSHIP AND TMR report for CFO
¢ Review GL recons for all accounts within their brand and produce a risk analysis and action report
Governance & Compliance
¢ Ensure that adequate policies and procedures are in place to mitigate risks, prevent fraud, ensure compliance to legislative, regulatory and good governance requirements and standards
¢ Ensure company financial policies and procedures are adhered to, at campuses and within the Brand
¢ Oversee the audit process (Internal and external) and provides relevant information and support to auditors as required. Deals with queries, as necessary, and escalates matters when required
¢ Sign off monthly audit files and ensure all month/year end journals are processed
¢ Takes appropriate action to remedy audit findings and limit the risk and monitors progress
¢ Ensure Principals and relevant staff at campuses are trained and aware of fInancial policies and procedures
¢ Identify financial risks in the Brand and advise CFO accordingly
¢ Recommend and implement action to mitigate risk and advise CFO and Principals accordingly
¢ Identify and prepare reports on Risk Management as required
¢ Ensure staff roles and responsibilities are clarified and performance objectives set and monitored. Conduct performance reviews in accordance with policy and procedure and take corrective action as required
¢ Ensure identification of critical skills essential for sustainability of service delivery to the brand
¢ Ensure staff are adequately trained
¢ Define and scope projects in accordance with business needs as and when required
¢ Ensure thorough investigation, information gathering and identification of cost saving opportunities to enable decision making
¢ Make recommendations for continuous improvement

Minimum Education Requirements:
- B. Comm/ B. Acc
- Honours / Post Graduate in Finance
- CA(SA) preferable
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
- Financial Management 5- 8 years
- Managerial experience 3 years
