Job Purpose:

Varsity College, an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (Pty) Ltd, is a registered private higher education institution.

The National Office is seeking a Project Manager (Research and Projects).Duties and Responsibilities:

€¢ Accountable to work with MANCO members, Marketing Manager and Business Manager on all research projects and particularly relating to marketing but also as required on staff surveys and student€™s surveys.
€¢ Responsible to develop, maintain, implement and deliver various annual and ad hoc research projects including new student registration survey, non-student registration survey, current student experience survey, new product research, inter alia.
€¢ Interact with and manage suppliers of research services and for the process of analysis and report delivery.
€¢ Plan and maintain budgets for all such research annually, reporting to the Business Manager.
€¢ To work with brand key personnel and agency suppliers as necessary to make business recommendations for consideration.
€¢ Involved in acquiring and maintaining of internal systems required for these purposes.

Competitor Analysis
€¢ To design, maintain and implement competitor surveys including considerations of product comparisons, operations, branding, advertising and pricing for all Varsity College and Business School competitors including analysis and recommendations in reports and to work with divisional Marketing for similar divisional projects.
€¢ To distribute findings in keeping with agreed actions.
New product projects
€¢ As above, to work on an ad hoc basis with Heads of School, MD, National Operations Manager to research generally or specific aspects of potential new products including assessment of competitors, marketplace, feasibilities and implementation recommendations, or as required.

New marketing initiatives (concepts)
€¢ To work with Marketing Manager, PE Events manager and/or Advertising agency to consider new marketing initiatives and events, particularly below the line promotions and PR initiatives, as required or to analyze effectiveness of such activities and make recommendations accordingly.
Assist with strategic projects in collaboration with various internal stakeholders
€¢ To work with Business manager and Managing Director on strategic projects to consider future direction of brand and proposals for new initiatives, particularly in the support and co-ordination of market information, staff attitudes, public opinion, desktop research or other.

€¢ Minimum Honours Degree or Postgraduate Diploma. Advantage if in Social Sciences or Commerce, with Research, Marketing and Statistical Analysis. Highly developed writing and communications skills. Proficient in Microsoft Forms, Word and Excel.

Work Experience:

€¢ Work experience in marketing projects, quantitative and qualitative research, marketing research, feasibility studies and report writing. work in education an advantage. First rate writing and report writing skills, using graphs and tables and interpreting data.
