The Westville campus has a vacancy for ICT Support.
The duties of the ICT Support include:
Help Desk Support
- Answers, evaluates and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, email and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking and other computer related technologies
- Logs and tracks calls using problem management database and maintains history records and related problem documentation
- Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follows up on routine user problems, referring more complex problems to National ICT department
- Allocates logged calls to staff in the ICT unit depending on the type of IT query
Software and Hardware Installations and Support
- Installs desktop and laptop computers for use on campus with the relevant software and completes the relevant documentation
- Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives
- Sets up Proximas in boardrooms for training use
- Conducts regular testing of the video conferencing and information technology equipment and fixes any problem with this equipment
Information Technology Administrative Functions
- Liaises with service providers on information technology equipment and on the procurement process
- Liaises with procurement staff to arrange the purchase of hardware and software
- Performs upgrades on systems
- Prepares standard statistical reports
Support to the Team and the Campus
- Trains and orients staff on use of hardware and software
- Liaises with software and hardware service providers to request service
- Tests software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and whether the product will aid the user in performing work

Education:
- Minimum of Higher Certificate / Occupational Certificate Level 5 (NQF Level 5) / A+ / N +
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years ICT Support experience
