Job Purpose:

The Westville campus is seeking a Programme Manager (School of Mangement)

 Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                      

Academic Leadership and Management                                                                                                                                              

  • Support the development new programmes for accreditation and curriculum material development in the cognate area
  • Manages and leads the interface with the Lecturing team and Head of School                                                                                                  
  • Drives the implementation of relevant teaching and learning initiatives in the cognate area
  • Plans resource allocation for all aspects of running a successful programme on a campus level                                                                          
  • Supports and develops the campus teams in the cognate area                                                

Industry and Professional Management                                                                                                                                              

  • Maintain established links with industry in the profession which includes industry placements of students, sponsorships and professional expertise.
  • Facilitation of and involvement in professional and scholarly activities e.g. Conference Papers and Higher Degree Studies.
  • Serves as a liaison with professional and academic partners as and when needed by the Head of School                                                                                               

Partnerships Building                                                                                                                                   

  • Represents Varsity College and Institute of Independent Education (IIE) on external partner faculty boards, committees and professional bodies
  • Facilitates compliance with partners and provider's policies, regulations and procedures
  • Work with the Head of School to design and develop a tactical plan for quality delivery of curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment
  • Monitors implementation and reviews efficiency and effectiveness of tactical plans with a view to developing an improvement plan on a campus level

Campus Support                                                                                                                                             

  • Leads the campus in the recruitment, selection, approval and development of the teaching team in the cognate area on a campus level
  • Plays a key communication role by keeping all stakeholders informed on new developments, recommendations and trends in the key cognate area and troubleshooting

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years Industry experience as well as 5 years Academic experience and at least 2 years Educational Management
